This Privacy Policy explains how your personal data is collected, used, and protected when you use the YolMetre app and website (app.yolmetre.com / www.yolmetre.com). By using YolMetre, you agree to this policy.
Details regarding cookies are provided in the Cookie Policy; details regarding the information notice and your rights under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 are provided in the Personal Data Protection Law Information Notice; and the rules governing the use of the service are set forth in the Terms of Use.
1. Data Controller

2. Data We Collect
In order to provide the service, we may process the following data:
- • Account & ID: Email address, display name, and (if available) profile picture. Basic account information (name, email address, profile picture) shared by Google when you “Sign in with Google.”
- • Vehicle & Preferences: Vehicle class, fuel/charging type, consumption settings; favorite locations, language, and theme preferences.
- • Location: Only when you give permission: your device's precise location and the start and destination points you enter during active route/navigation.
- • Travel & Use: The routes you've calculated, your navigation sessions, and their statistics (distance, duration, estimated cost, etc.).
- • Technical & Equipment: IP address, browser/device type, session and security logs.
- • Communication: Your name, email address, and the content of your message when you fill out the contact/support form.
- • Notification: Information about your notification subscription when you allow push notifications.
- • Sound: When you use the voice assistant, the audio data processed to understand your command (which is not stored after the command is completed).
3. How We Use the Data
- • Provision of the service: Route and cost calculation (tolls, bridges, ferries, fuel/charging), navigation, weather, and traffic information.
- • Account management: Registration, login, identity verification, and saving profiles and favorites.
- • Personalization: Predictions based on your vehicle profile and the retention of your preferences.
- • Security: Prevention of misuse, detection of abuse, audit logs.
- • Communication: Responding to your requests and notifications.
- • Development: Improving service quality and performance.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties for advertising purposes.
4. Location and Microphone
- • Location data is used only when you grant permission and during active routing or navigation. You can disable this permission at any time in your device settings.
- • The microphone is accessed only to understand your command when you choose to use the voice assistant; audio data is not permanently stored after the command is given.
- • With the emergency call (112 / 161 / 159) feature, calls and location sharing are handled through your device or operating system.
• When you initiate an emergency call (112 / 161 / 159) from within the app, your location may be made visible to authorized emergency response personnel for a limited time so that emergency assistance can be coordinated. This process is based on the need to protect your life or physical well-being and is limited solely to the emergency situation; there is no continuous background location tracking.
5. Third-Party Services
To provide the service, we use the following providers, which process data only to the extent necessary:
- • Hosting, database, and authentication: Database infrastructure hosted on our own server.
- • Google: “Sign in with Google” authentication.
- • Cloudflare: Content distribution, security, and bot protection.
- • MapTiler: Map view.
- • Address Search: An open-source search service hosted on our server.
- • Route engine: Route calculation hosted on our own server.
- • Open-Meteo: Weather
- • World Time API: Time information
• Ipify: Approximate location/IP information. - • E-mail: Sending transactional emails.
In the free versions of the service, ads may be displayed via Google AdSense, and (if enabled) usage analytics may be tracked using Google Analytics. Some providers may be located outside the country; your data may be transferred for the purpose of providing the service and in accordance with applicable laws.
6. Retention Periods
We retain your data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy and for the periods required by applicable laws. When you delete your account, your personal data associated with that account will be deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period of time (subject to any legal retention obligations).
7. Data Security
To protect your data from unauthorized access, we implement technical and administrative measures such as encryption during transmission (HTTPS), access controls (row-level security), authentication, and security logs. Please note that no system is 100% secure.
8. Your Rights
You can manage a significant portion of the data associated with your account through the Account/Settings section within the app, or you can delete your account. Details regarding your rights under the KVKK (access, rectification, erasure, objection, etc.) and the procedure for submitting requests are provided in the KVKK Information Notice.
